Most factories that would benefit from a robot do not need a new production line. They need one station automated: the loading, the transfer, the sorting, the palletising — whichever operation an operator repeats a few hundred times a shift. We start by studying the process that exists, identifying which step actually repays automation, and saying so plainly when none of them does.

From there the work runs end to end: a feasibility study that names the robot and the payback, then the cell itself — layout, fixtures, end-of-arm tooling, sensors, guarding — then the robot programs, the integration with the machines and PLC around it, and commissioning on your floor with the cycle time optimised rather than merely working. We program on FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Kawasaki and DOBOT, online or offline, matching whatever platform is already in the building or specifying one for a new cell.

A robot cell is never only a robot. It needs fixtures designed and made, a gripper that suits the actual part, guarding, and a control system that talks to the machine next to it. That is the reason this sits alongside our PLC automation, CAD design, 3D scanning and manufacturing work rather than as a standalone offering — the mechanical design, the tooling, the robot and the controls come from one engineering team, so there is no gap between suppliers for the cell to fall into.

How the work runs

Starts with the process you run today, not with a robot — the first honest answer is sometimes that no station is worth automating.

    Study the process on site

    Which operation is repeated, how many times a shift, and where the line actually slows down — measured on your floor rather than assumed.

  2. 02

    Assess whether a robot repays it

    The realistic production gain, the handling the part needs, and the robot that suits it. If the answer is no, that is the answer you get.

  3. 03

    Design the cell

    Robot position, fixtures, end-of-arm tooling, conveyors, sensors and guarding — drawn as one layout before anything is bought.

    Program the robot

    Written for the platform in the building, or the one specified for a new cell. Offline where the cell can be simulated first, online where it cannot.

    Integrate with the machines and PLC

    Robot-to-PLC communication, sensors, machine interlocks and the HMI, so the cell runs as one automatic sequence rather than as a robot beside a machine.

    Optimise the cycle and hand over

    Movements and cycle time tuned on the real part, then the operators trained on the cell before we leave.

Common questions

Before you ask

Do I have to replace my whole production line?
No, and that is usually the wrong place to start. The normal path is one station: we study the process you run today, find the operation a robot can take over, and integrate around the machines you already have.
Which robot brands do you program?
FANUC, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa, Kawasaki and DOBOT, plus other industrial and collaborative platforms. We match whatever is already installed, or specify the robot as part of the feasibility study for a new cell.
How do you decide whether a robot is worth it?
With an assessment before any quotation. We look at the cycle, the volumes and the handling, estimate the realistic production gain, and tell you if the answer is no — a robot on the wrong station costs money and saves nothing.
Can you build the fixtures and grippers too?
Yes. End-of-arm tooling is designed for the actual part, and the same team does the CAD, the scanning where a part has to be measured, and the manufacturing. That is the point of having the mechanical and control sides in one place.
Do you handle the PLC and safety side as well?
Yes — robot-to-PLC communication, sensors, interlocks, HMI and the guarding are part of the cell, not a separate job. See our PLC automation service for the controls work on its own.
Do you install and commission on site?
Yes. We install the cell, program and prove the full cycle, optimise the movements and cycle time, and train the operators before we leave. On-site support across Colombo and island-wide.
